What is 65# carbon steel?
65 carbon steel is a medium-high carbon spring steel. Its core feature is that it can simultaneously possess high hardness, high strength, and excellent elasticity after heat treatment. Additionally, it has a relatively low cost, making it a common material for manufacturing springs, cutting tools, and other products.
Its specific key characteristics can be summarized into three points:
1. Core Composition: With a carbon content of approximately 0.62%-0.70%, it belongs to medium-high carbon steel. The carbon content determines that its hardness and strength can be significantly improved through heat treatment.
2. Performance Advantages:
◦ After heat treatment (such as quenching + tempering), its hardness can reach above HRC50, with high strength and resistance to deformation.
◦ It has excellent elasticity, capable of withstanding repeated bending or impact without easy breakage, and exhibits good "resilience".
3. Limitations: It has relatively low toughness and may be brittle under low temperatures or severe impacts. Moreover, its corrosion resistance is poor, making it prone to rust. Surface treatment (such as electroplating, oil coating) is usually required.

Note:
1. Please allow 1-3mm error due to manual measurement. please make sure you do not mind before you bid.
2. Due to lighting effects, monitor's brightness contrast settings etc, there could be some slight differences in the color tone of the pictures and the actual item!
3. Do not cut steel wires or hard metals. Exceeding the applicable range may cause the plier jaws to curl or shorten the service life of the pliers
